We Were Promised Jetpacks je indie rock bend iz Glazgova, Škotska. Bend čine Adam Thompson (vokal, gitara), Michael Palmer (gitara), Sean Smith (bass gitara) i Darren Lackie (bubnjevi).
Nastali su u Edingburgu 2003. godine. U početku, još kao maloletni, svirali su na ulicama Edinburga. Međutim, sa završetkom škole, preselili su se u Glazgov. Učestvovali su na školskom takmičenju bendova, na kom su i pobedili.
Septembra 2008. godine bili su predgrupa na turneji Frightened Rabbit.
Svoj album prvenac, These Four Walls, objavili su 15. juna 2009. godine. Nekoliko pesama se albuma se već vrtelo po britanskim i američkim radio stanicama, uključujući Quiet Little Voices, koji važi za najuspešniji. Sa pomenutim albumom dospeli su na 27. mesto Billboardove Heatseekers liste. Izlazak trećeg singla, It's Thunder and It's Lightning/Ships With Holes Will Sink se očekuje uskoro.
